A Mexican film that's one of the best fantasy movies I ever saw. A story about family and a girl willing to risk it all to protect her loved ones. Filled with magic, fairytales, and adventure.
Immensely intellectually involving, with some great ideas to work your mind around.
I didn't mind watching it in Spanish, 'cause of the anime that I watch with all the sub's lol
But I was completely satisfied with this movie.
Uno de los grandes cuentos que nos ha entregado la cinematografía, no hay aspecto negativo en la cinta, grandes actuaciones y gran dirección de Del Toro.
Honestly, found it a bit too slow. :( I'll have to see it a few more times to get a real feel for what this movie is actually about.
This movie is as close to perfect as any movie is likely to get, especially considering it makes use of the full-range of fantastic realism in a cinematic format. Too frightening for children.
the whole thing is in spanish and u have to read subtitles but i think that makes you pay that much closer. i thought it was great and i want to see it again
"Pan's Labyrinth" A story of a young girl who travels with her pregnant mother to live with her mother's new husband in a rural area up North in Spain, 1944, after Franco's victory. The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin. Post-war Fascist repression is at its height in rural Spain and the girl must come to terms with that through a fable of her own. This a one of the best movies Ive seen. A fairytale that Ophelia believes in pitted against Franco's Spain, belle and enchantment weighed against the horror of war and destruction. Far amazing film! Sergi López, Ivana Baquero, Maribel Verdu, Doug Jones, Álex Angulo and Ariadna Gil give fantastic performances in this extraordinary foreign film. Subtitles included :o)
this gothic thriller is one of the best movies that i have ever seen! despite it being in spanish, the story and filming really makes up for that
Perfectly succeeds in merging a fictional fantasy world into reality.
The cast is mostly unknown, but carries the job outstandingly.
I can't deny that this so called "fairy tale for grown ups" is extremely good, but it just wasn't my taste.
I'll be checkin out Guillermo Del Toro's works more closely from now on.
One of Guillermo del Toro's best films. A mature/insighful film and a great example of international fanastique...every young person should see it at least once.
A child's beautiful imagination comes to life in the appalling presence of a fascist, a great mixture of a fantasy and war drama. By far one of the best movies in my book.
Good movie, but that's so painful for this young girl and this movie is still pretty freaking movie. You know?
Excellent. Lots of creepy monsters, and just plain weirdness. Me like. Weird that some of these same monsters show up in Hellboy2 though... Can't afford new costumes?
Pans Labyrinth has been a firm favourite of mine since the first time I saw it. It's a beautiful cinematic film but I wouldn't expect any less from Guillermo del Toro. This a fantasy film for the adults with it's dark side of fairy-tales. One of those films you have to see.
this movie was unexpectadly good the monsters were brilliantly by del toro...and the story kept you interested...the negative was sub titles....
A surreal mixture of a fairytale world and ugly reality - I must confess I didn't get the movie fully. Some parts were boring true, but overall it left me wondering what just hit me. I'll need to watch it more carefully again, but meanwhile, I'll give it a thumbs up.
Some people say that they hate it because its in spanish, but I don't think it would be as.... dramatic if it were English.
This film is gorgous in every way. Guillermo is a true visionary director to create such a beautifully written, shot, and acted work of art. Bravo!
Uma fábula sensacional. Labirinto do Fauno me arrancou lágrimas.
it was really creepy and violent. not something i would want to see again. plus the whole movie was in spanish
After minute :
Different way to show what fairytale is . Fairytale isn't only for lil' kids , it's also for adult . It's creepy , eccentric , dark and very pro.THE REVIEW COMING SOON

Great movie. I love this movie, I highly recommended. This movie is a great fantasy movie.
this movie is like the best of all time!!!!!!! i'm going pans labyrinth freakish! and the faun is so cute! ;)
I Loved this movie! It had great special effects! I do think that there was a little too much violence! (of course I really didn't mind it) If you would like to see a really great fantasy movie! This is it! It is my favorite! I think it had a happy ending because the girl went with her parents instead of staying with that evil Stepfather (who died anyway) I think that she was a little stupid because she ate a grape after that faun told her not too, but I do think the guy at the table who put his eyes in his hands was awesome!!! THIS IS A MUST SEE MOVIE!
Oh god!You must see this movie,it's absolutely beautiful. And allegorical,I think, because the always die in wars.
Pretty underwhelming..
The Spirit of the Beehive (which influenced this) and Ivan's Childhood both do much better jobs at portraying the inner world of children during war.
If your complaning that it can't be in english then mayb e you should stick to some close-minded movie to feel more comfy. this movie was wonderful and I loved every second of it. This Adult version on Alice in wonerland will move you.
