Awesome, awesome flick. Outstanding performance by the main characters, especially the late Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart. The storyline is quite OK, at times a bit draggy with the dialogues (which probably makes up the film's 2 hrs 30 mins runtime...). Action scenes, OTT greatness! Could possibly be one of the best superhero films ever made.

MCT:August 20, 2008Cosidering the sad story and and the hype around the Joker I was a little sceptical before I went to watch this film that maybe Heath (as much as I love him) wouldn't give the outstanding performance which people are claiming he does - but it turns out that I had no reason to fear, as Heath does another fantastic performance in which you totally forget it is him, much like I do when I watch 'Brokeback'. He plays the Joker so well that I had the creeps walking home expecting someone to walk out wearing make up and saying 'why so serious?'.
Although I obviously approved of Heath's performance, I think the tragic story surrounding the whole thing has maybe blinded people a little from the other remarkable cast members. I love Aaron Eckhart and think he often doesn't get the credit he deserves, and this film is no exception. He plays the two opposite sides to Harvy Dent/Two Face excellently - in fact he does it so well that even when he was being bad I still felt incredibly sorry for him. And as always Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman provided some great tension breaking lines and played their supporting roles brilliantly. Not to mention I probably never would have imagined casting Gary Oldman in his part, but I think it was a stroke of genius becasue he just fits it so well.
The media studies side of me loved this film too - it had all the topical deeper meanings you except in a comic book film, terrorism, using your power for good, sacrificing your happiness for other people etc. And some of the camera work and some of the shots, not to mention just some of the on screen actions were amazing. The scene when they turn Dent's head to his good side as they talk about how he has to be remembered in only the good way was absolutly incredible - such a small thing to do but with such a huge message!
So yes, as you can tell I recommend seeing this film, yes it is long but I honestly didn't mind. I didn't even feel like I'd sat there for three hours, I was so engrossed with the film. -

What can I say about this movie that hasn't been said by just about everyone already? The movie is a classic and really my only gripe was it ran a tad too long. I actually thought it was going to end at one point but continued for another half hour. My only other small gripe is Christian Bale's horrible Batman voice (which hurts me to bash because he is one of my top favorite actors). These tiny complaints keep it from being perfection.

Absolutely brilliant. Heath Ledger and Christian Bale work so good together in this. Hands down the best movie of the year and ever!!!

<br/>No-one else could of played a better Joker than Heath Ledger. His performance was brilliant!! absolutely brilliant. Honestly if Heath doesn't win an Oscar than no-one should. The rest of the cast is fantastic, as well. Christian Bale puts a fantastic effor into being Batman/Bruce Wayne. Im sure its not easy playing 2 characters. Heath Ledger is supposed to be a freak in this movie and I think he played an excellent freak. The realy isnt a word to describe this movie because it is more than brilliant, excellent, fantastic etc. If you haven't seen this movie then go!! you are missing out on one performance of a lifetime. The best movie of the year hands down. R.I.P. HEATH LEDGER :(. -

"I'm going to make this pencil... disappear" Assuming almost everyone has seen this by now, you know what I'm talking about. That's my favorite line in the movie, that line told me exactly how badass this movie was going to be. Let alone the brilliance of the bank heist mixing right in with the school buses. Perfect. If you've still yet to see this, get off your ass and get to the theater before it's gone. Bale's raspy voice became overbearing towards the end, but it was tolerable seeing as how the rest of the movie was excellent. R.i.P. Ledger, quite a spin he put on the Joker, not as the cartoonish supervillian we all remember. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Jack's portrayal in the first Batman, but he could only act how he was written, sort of a comedic crazy, where as in this movie the Joker is just totally insane to a degree, but still well thought out and with a plan, even if it's just chaos. Well done indeed.

This movie is pure and unequivocal cinematic gold. I love it like crazy it is like so perfectly amazing. Every part of it is so expertly crafted and the acting was superb ...i mean like i haven't seen acting in a movie like that in damn ages. Heath Ledger does a performance that seriously had me in awe. I was breathless...his portrayal of the Joker was transfixing and ungodly perfectly done. I don't think that i have seen a better job ever done and i doubt that I will ever see a better job done. Damn! I was open mouthed and in total astonishment every moment Joker was on the screen. I didn't know evil and fear could be personified so well. The writing was incredible, the acting was perfection and every cinematic effect and scene seemed totally iconic. The cinematography was done so well it is obvious that these scenes will be living in freeze frame for ages...I can't wait to be discussing this movie in 40, 50, 60 or even seventy years like Gone with the Wind Casablanca, The Birds and Citizen Kane...and yes i think this movie is as good as these. Remember the only thing that changes with age when talking about a movie is the age of the critics who write the reviews lol

Wow. Everyone was right, this is a cinematic masterpiece. Seeing the cruelties that human beings are capable of is very frightening, the Joker is not over the top--he is the genius mastermind of chaos. Heath Ledger was absolutely brilliant. This is the darkest comic-book movie I've ever seen, I will find it hard to watch again anytime soon. Everyone MUST see this and let it impact them as well.

Ohh now this is one helluva movie! Eye cannot fully express just how much eye loved this movie in one review but eye'll try. This movie gripped me as soon as it began. That hovering over the city scene was a true work of cinematography. And the bank robbery that soon followed wasn't to shabby either. The following scene with the mob and Scarecrow meeting up had a nice and errie feel to it. this movie didn't feel like a comic book movie at all, it felt more like an excellent crime drama in my opinion. Eyev'e always been a fan of the Batman series but Christopher nolan brings a whole nother dimension to the series. The movie just delivers one great scene after another, there isn't a dull moment in the entire film. While the action won't blow you away this film still has a number of stunningly staged moments of action and violence. Contrary to what the critics say this movie really isn't that violent. If you'r a person like me who like to read reviews for movies before watching them you should know what eye mean. The critics lable it as being the most violent pg-13 movie they have ever seen. me as an audience member have scene way more violence on a number of other pg-13 movies. The Dark Knight only had two scenes were a bit of gore was present, the scene were Bruce is stitching himself up, and when harvey is in a plastic cover after his face is burned in an explosion right after rachel dies. If you think eye'm spoiling the movie for you tough look chum you should have already seen the movie. This brings me to my finale stage of the review if you haven't seen this movie you're a disgrace.

heath's greatest performance of his life. he was on the rise. he was so dark and twisty, it was creepy. can't wait to see it AGAIN! :D -

heath ledger tremendously done his part as joker..
harvey dent(aaron beckart) was killed here due to his willingness to revenge for the death of his fiance "rachel" as the joker pushed him to do the wrong way..
at the end, batman is hunted for all the crimes and dent was the hero to all.. -
I LOVED THE NEW INSTALLMENT TO THE BATMAN FRANCHISE. CHRISTIAN BALE HAS TAKEN THE REINS AND SHOWN HE IS BATMAN. THOUGHT I WOULDN'T LIKE ANYONE OUTSIDE OF MICHAEL KEATON IN THE ROLE. SINCE I AM A SPECIAL EFFECTS FAN THIS WAS GREAT. I'VE RECOMMENDED THIS MOVIE MANY TIMES

It was fantastic!!!.. absolutely amazing!... i dunno how christopher nolan does it but he's got talent!.. heath ledger was totally amazing and did a fantastic job as the joker!.. as for christian bale.. he's always fantastic.. i think he's the perfect batman... and the guy who played harvey dent also did a great job too!.. no wonder this movie's been no.1 int he box office for soo long... and its been beating records ever since... i cant wait for the third sequel!.. i never was a fan of comic book characters expecially batman and was NEVER interested in its movies either but this movie is sure to change ur opinion. :D

although Heath kept licking his lips (that was so annoying after awhile) (why he did it...it was not apparent)...the movie had action and grasp.....but I want really happy with Heaths acting as the Joker.......

I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS AWSOME! THE GUY WHO PLAYED THE JOKER WAS GOOD!!! AND SO WAS CRISTAN BALE! INFACT ALL OF THE ACTORS WERE GREAT! and it's really sad that the guy that played the joker died in real life. im' very sorry for him. rest in peace joker. I'M SORRY FOR EVERYONE WHO HASEN'T SEEN THE DARK KNIGHT. IT WAS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!
