Interesting. Another "Across the Universe." I'd have to say that my favourite Bob Dylan's were Cate Blanchett and Ben Whishaw.
So very confusing, but it didn't matter because it was beautiful and just about everything Bob Dylan said and was repeated in this was ingenious. Even when certain parts were hard to understand you have to love the imagery and ideas that were shown
Bob Dylan is one of my favorite musicians.
When I first saw this movie, I thought- what an amazingly weird movie. I loved it.
Now I have seen it many times and I still love it. This movie is so bizarre and so good that I just don?t know what else to say.
Directed By: Todd Hayness
Starring: Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger, Julianne Moore, Marcus Carl Franklin, Richard Gere, Michelle Williams.
My Review:
Boooring..Filled with bunch of stars, it should be a good one but for me, it's not.
Well, actually there's nothing wrong with the actors/actresses, but there's 1 important thing, the plot or the story is very complicated (I need wikipedia.org in order to understand it). When I watch it, I always said," It's not over yet? Oh please be over!"
It's very boring. Well, Christian Bale, Heath ledger was awesome while Cate Blanchett was amazing. But that's the act. But the whole movie is quite complicated as I mention it before. The score and the music, well, I like it.
Well, that's it. I couldn't say much about it. All I know, Cate's brilliant act made this movie interesting a little. Rest of it? Sleepy.

Memorable Quotes:Jack Rollins: [looking up in the sky] It's hard not to go to Hell. There's so many distractions,so many influences.Start walking right and pretty soon, there's someone gonna drag you down.Sure as we're living, sure as we're born, look up,look up,

Jack Rollins: Gabriel blows his horn."Seven simple rules of going into hiding: one, never trust a cop in a raincoat. Two, beware of enthusiasm and of love, both are temporary and quick to sway. Three, if asked if you care about the world's problems, look deep into the eyes of he who asks, he will never ask you again. Four, never give your real name. Five, if ever asked to look at yourself, dont. Six, never do anything the person standing in front of you cannot understand. And finlly seven, never create anything, it will be misinterpreted, it will chain you and follow you for the rest of your life. "

Great movie...
I'M NOT THERE is clearly not a movie for everyone. The concept of the film is experimental, the execution of the 'documentary' is actually an amalgam of the aura and influence of one man in the music world instead of a linear history of a famous singer/poet, and the goal seems more to find the effect of Bob Dylan's chameleon persona on those people with whom he came into contact than it is to relate the story of a fascinating and important American artist.
The intertwining stories are done so well and stay so true to the man that Dylan was makes "I'm Not There" one of the best films of the year. The constantly changing themes, looks and colors of the film embody Dylan's appearances to perfection. The six characters embody Dylan's schizophrenic like changing of personalities. The historical backdrops used in the film are important and relevant to the times and characters as they add depth and perception to the character's lives. Todd Haynes has created a work that should only get better and more revered as time goes by because we just don't come across films such as this in any time period. Haynes has created a gem to be proud of and a gem that Dylan should be proud of.
