The Count of Monte Cristo (2002,  PG-13)
The Count of Monte Cristo 5.0 Stars
The best revenge story ever. A great adaption of the book. Performances were great all around, but the performance has to be Guy Pearce for being believably arrogant and a character that compells you to hate with a vengence

Antwone Fisher (2002,  PG-13)
Antwone Fisher 4.5 Stars
A remarkable tale based on a true story, I was gripped from start to finish. Derek Luke, I thought played a fantastic part and it was a good performance from Denzel too, who also Directed the film.

An emotional account of how someone's present circumstances are a result of their past, facing your fears and forgiving to enable you to move on.

VERDICT: A great film which I definitely recommend.

Alanis Morissette: Feast on Scraps (2002,  Unrated)
Alanis Morissette: Feast on Scraps 4.5 Stars
Fantastic performances each and every time with Alanis, I'm a huge fan of all her work, however there is one thing I gound rather annoying in this dvd, the filming cuts part way through a song and picks up the same song from another concert, when this is happens there is a huge difference in sound quality and runis some of the tracks, that is the only reason this one doesn't reach the 5 stars.

VERDICT: Alanis is a fantastic writer and fairly deep with her lyrics, so not for everybody, but I think she's fantastic.

Bad Company (2002,  PG-13)
Bad Company 4.0 Stars
So much better than I expected this to be. There were some extremely funny moments coming from Chris Rock of course, but also from Anthony Hopkins at times. The story itself was unexpectably good and held me from start to finish.

8 Mile (2002,  R)
8 Mile 4.0 Stars
I think the big shock in this film is that Eminem can not only act, but also plays a not so extravert part as you might imagine he would. Of course it's a better film if you like the style of music, but there is a storyline and it's a pretty good one.

Murder by Numbers (2002,  R)
Murder by Numbers 4.0 Stars
I love this film and have watched it over and over, Ryan Gosling and Michael Pitt play great roles as young school kids plotting a more than perfect murder.

I much prefer seeing Sandra Bullock in this kind of film and of course co-staring is British Actor Ben Chaplin.

No boring parts, cleverly written and there are great twists.

Making a Killing (Murder by Design) (2002,  R)
Making a Killing (Murder by Design) 4.0 Stars
I don't believe I have ever seen so many twists in a film. The plot I felt was brilliant, it's a shame that the acting didn't quite measure so highly, which was probably down to the obvious low budget.

VERDICT: It entertained and did the trick

City by the Sea (2002,  R)
City by the Sea 4.5 Stars
A film that questions family loyalty and doing the right thing. Strong performances by De Niro and McDormand and an intriguing story.

Heaven (2002,  R)
Heaven 4.5 Stars
This Itlian speaking film (with a small amount of English speaking) is a little slow moving, but has a very interesting story. Cate Blanchett of course (as always) is brilliant, pairing with Giovanni Ribisi once again, who also gave a great performance.

Ironically there is a sense of freedom found in them being fugitives and the spark between them (in other circumstances) would probably not have ignited

(Known in the UK as La Mentale) One of the best Gangster style films I've ever seen. Fantastic performces all around especially from Samy Naceri, this had a very realistic feel to it.

A definite recommendation

Frailty 4.5 Stars
One of my favourite films and one of the best film twists ever.

A sinister tale, well written and put together well, I never tire from watching this and never fail to be impressed.

To anyone who hasn't watched this film yet, you really should.

Hable con Ella (Talk to Her) (2002,  R)
Hable con Ella (Talk to Her) 4.0 Stars
An original and unusual storyline and set of circumstances. There was one particular scene that was quite bizarre and I?m sure if you?ve seen it you will know immediately of which one I?m referring to, but the main plot is a much more serious and interesting story, which I felt made compelling viewing.

Chicago (2002,  PG-13)
Chicago 4.5 Stars
Beautiful and stunning, sexy and sassy. A thirst for fame leads these ladies to prison to head straight for Murderers Row where they meet a clever lawyer whose spin can turn murder into showbiz.

Catherine Zeta Jones is back where she started out and puts on an amazing performance in this film, in fact all of the cast in this film were really good.

This is one Musical I feel, people may watch, even if they hate the idea of musicals.
